Chelsea beat City to reach seventh successive Women’s League Cup final

Wieke Kaptein’s goal gave Chelsea a 1-0 victory at Manchester City, taking them through to their seventh consecutive Women’s League Cup final.

The Blues trail leaders City by six points in the league, but Kaptein’s header just before half-time was enough to give them a semi-final win at Joie Stadium.

They will face Manchester United – who beat Arsenal 1-0 – in the final at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate on 15 March.

Chelsea had to battle for their win – City duo Vivianne Miedema and Kerstin Casparij both hit the post.

Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton also made crucial stops to prevent an equaliser, saving from Miedema and Yui Hasegawa.
