Uncertainty over George’s future and Buonanotte joins Leeds

The future of Tyrique George is uncertain after Liam Rosenior admitted to being unsure whether the young forward will leave Chelsea during this month’s transfer window.

George, 19, has not started a league game this season and has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Several clubs have shown an interest in him and it currently seems probable that he will move on.

Asked if George is likely to be sold this month, head coach Rosenior said: “The honest answer is I don’t know.

“Tyrique is a player with immense potential and I’ve been an admirer of for a long time.

“He was unfortunate in the first game against Charlton – he travelled with the group but wasn’t in the group. Yesterday (against Arsenal) he was on the bench.

“I’ve said to the players ‘Your background, whether you’re an academy player or a player signed for £100m, it is about what you do in training’ – and I have to say his attitude in training has been top class.

“A lot of things have to come together for a player to leave. At the moment, I have heard nothing and I will continue to work with him in the group.”

Meanwhile, Facundo Buonanotte has left Chelsea and joined Leeds on loan.

The Argentine has made just one league appearance since being signed from Brighton on a season-long loan, which has been ended early in order for him to move to the Yorkshire club.

Rosenior said: “I’m in constant communication with the sporting director and ownership about potential transfers that would be good for us, both coming in and going out.”
