Swansea v QPR player ratings

QPR beat Swansea 1-0 to secure a third victory in four away matches. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.

Paul Nardi: 7

Ensured the win with a vital late save to keep out Zan Vipotnik’s stoppage-time header.

Jimmy Dunne: 7

Combative at the back and went close to scoring when his shot hit the post.

Steve Cook: 6

Set a trap for Malick Yalcouye, which the Swansea man walked into by headbutting him as they squared up and getting himself sent off. Cook and fellow centre-back Amadou Mbengue struggled at times, though, even against 10 men.

Amadou Mbengue: 5

Showed poor positional sense and was careless on the ball as Rangers made it hard for themselves following the sending-off.

Sam Field: 5

Recalled to the side and seemed to lack sharpness in an uncomfortable performance at left-back.

Isaac Hayden: 7

Was also brought into the team and justified his inclusion with an energetic display in midfield and an assist, pulling the goal back for Rumarn Burrell to score.

Nicolas Madsen: 8

Very good. Bounced straight back from an off-day against Millwall and did well in midfield, showing quality on the ball and again some genuine physicality when winning possession.

Paul Smyth: 5

Poor before being taken off on the hour mark. Wasted a great chance when he failed to put Richard Kone through on goal just before the substitution.

Koki Saito: 7

Lively before fading in the second half. Did brilliantly on the left in the build-up to the goal.

Richard Kone: 7

A frustrating night in terms of goal opportunities, summed up by Smyth not putting him through, but Kone’s link-up play and work off the ball were excellent.

Rumarn Burrell: 7

Showed two sides to his game, tirelessly antagonising Swansea’s defenders and chasing lost causes, but also showed fine composure for his goal, nudging the ball into the far corner of the net.

Karamoko Dembele: 5

Wasteful after replacing Smyth. Made no real impact.

Jonathan Varane: 5

Unimpressive after his second-half introduction. Repeatedly second best in midfield, despite Rangers’ numerical advantage, and missed a sitter when he fired the loose ball wide after Dunne had hit the post.

Ilias Chair: 6

Made a welcome return after his injury lay-off and was lively after coming on, but did miss a good chance to score.
