Transfer gossip: QPR linked with Davies

A look at the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…
QPR want to sign defender Ben Davies from Scottish side Rangers, it is claimed.
The 30-year-old can play at left-back or centre-back. He moved to Glasgow from Liverpool in 2022, having previously been at Preston.
It is claimed that QPR are battling with Oxford United for the signing of Davies, who was on loan at Birmingham last season.
Is there anything in it?
QPR are looking to bring in a left-sided defender who can play at left-back or centre-back, essentially to replace Morgan Fox in the squad.
They made an enquiry about Davies towards the end of June, were put off by his apparent wage demands and have since been looking at other potential signings.
The preferred choice is Sheffield United’s Rhys Norrington-Davies, but that move appears to be on hold until the Yorkshire club sign another defender.
