Potter ‘focused on next match’ amid speculation over his future

Graham Potter insists he is unfazed by reports he could be close to losing his job as Chelsea head coach.

The Blues are 10th in the table, having won just two of their past 15 Premier League matches.

There has been speculation that the next two games, both at home, against Leeds and the Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, could decide Potter’s fate.


But Potter said: “I don’t tend to look at it in any way like that. I just tend to focus on the next match.

“We know the situation that we’re in, which is that we need to improve the results that we’ve had. That’s my responsibility. They haven’t been good enough. That’s all I focus on.”

Potter, who insisted he has been “not listening too much” to speculation about his future, was barracked by Chelsea after the recent home defeat against Southampton.

“Fans care,” said Potter, who left Brighton to take over at Stamford Bridge in September.

“Results haven’t been good enough. We know that and we accept that. There’s no hiding behind it. We have to do better and it starts with me.”

Mason Mount will miss Saturday’s game and Reece James is a doubt because of hamstring trouble.
