Chelsea trio set to sign new deals, Times reports

Some of the stories in Saturday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs….

Chelsea are close to agreeing new contracts with Willian, Tammy Abraham and Reece James, the Times reports.

The club have been negotiating with Willian for almost a year and the Brazilian reportedly wants a two-year deal.

Defender James impressed on loan at Wigan last season, while striker Abraham is hoping to earn a run in the Chelsea first team.

And The Times say all three players are close to committing their futures to the club.

N’Golo Kante has also committed his future to Chelsea by saying he is happy at Stamford Bridge, the Daily Express reports.

Kante, who has repeatedly been linked with Paris St-Germain, said: “It’s rewarding to be wanted by big clubs, when coaches want you in their project it’s nice.

“But I’m happy with my choices and feel good at Chelsea. I’m planning for the next season at Chelsea. I’m happy with my choices and to be in Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claim Crystal Palace are preparing an improved bid for Ollie Watkins after having an offer rejected by Brentford.

West London Sport previously revealed Palace’s interest in Watkins, who has been monitored by a number of Premier League clubs.

The Mail say Palace are ready to make an another approach after having an £11m bid turned down.

And Tottenham are close to completing a deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham for around £30m, again according to the Mail.
