Sarri hints he is leaving Napoli

Maurizio Sarri, who has been linked with the Chelsea manager’s job, has seemingly suggested he could leave Napoli.

There have been reports that Sarri is set to sign a new contract to stay on as boss of the Serie A club.

However, Italian media on Sunday quoted him as saying: “In life, everything comes to an end. Sometimes it’s better to finish stories while they are good.

“The journey has been fantastic. Tomorrow I will talk to my family before anyone else.”

Sarri is among a host of managers to have been linked with Chelsea, who are widely tipped to replace Antonio Conte this summer.

And Sarri added: “I don’t think I could go to another Italian team immediately. The memory of Napoli would be too strong.”

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has also indicated that Sarri could be on the way out.

He was quoted as saying: “Will Sarri remain? I don’t know. Time has run out.”
