Villa fans on Twitter react to Hogan talks

Aston Villa fans on Twitter are split over the merits of signing Brentford striker Scott Hogan.
The Bees have entered talks with their Championship rivals over a potential sale, with Crystal Palace also making an enquiry.
Villa had previously been in for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes, and some of their fans are not sure Hogan is an improvement.
Would rather #AVFC spend the money on Rhodes instead of Hogan

Hogan been prolific for half a season…. Rhodes been prolific for 5 years…. let that sink in for a minute or two #avfc

What makes Scott Hogan more appealing than Jordan Rhodes,Rhodes has scored at this level and below and years

If we weren't prepared to pay 9 mil for Rhodes why pay 15 for Scott hogan, madness #avfc

Does anyone rate Hogan? Apart from his recent goals he has struggled with clubs and injuries. Price tag seems very high for him. #avfc

But others said they preferred former Rochdale man Hogan, given he is on the way up in his career.
Signing Scott Hogan would be a good deal. Better all arounder than Jordan Rhodes. #AVFC

Would have hogan over Rhodes any day of the week #avfc

I would prefer scott hogan but if the lad doesnt really want to come and is waiting for someone else then rhodes is the better option #utv

We have had both players at griffin park and I can tell you now that Scott is a better team player and finisher than Jordan he’s stronger faster and a good egg in the dressing room unlike that muppet Ross McCormack

I agree Steve, although Hogan looks decent and a goal threat Rhodes with his desire to come here and his relentless goalscoring prowess in the Championship he seems to be the better fit for us, however i will add something that has been niggling in my head and that is McCrmack was a proven goalscorer at this level and seemed a guaranteed goalscorer for us?
Maybe the truth is we won’t know how any player will fit in here with attitude respect work rate etc until they settle in and we see how they do?

Hogan wants Premiership glory, bet he’s gutted now West Ham seen sense. Rhodes is a good player and more so its reported he want to play for AVFC.
I’d go for Rhodes all day long, he knows the game, can be a prolific scorer and you know what you are going to get from him ( cant be said for half a season wonder Hogan !)
Villa needs a good striker to get on all these new midfield passes and crosses….someone who can take those chances and put the ball in the net.
We boobed with McCormack, so don’t want a repeat.
