Boss confident Germany star will stay after Chelsea are linked

Cologne boss Peter Stoger has insisted the German club have no intention of selling Jonas Hector, who has been linked with Chelsea.

Reports have suggested that the Blues are keen to sign the Germany left-back, 26, during this month’s transfer window.

Stoger says there has been no indication that Hector is looking to move.

“I would not say that any player of any club in the world is not for sale, but we have extended Jonas’ contract and I think the player is clear – he knows what he wants,” German media quoted Stoger as saying.

“If there is any club Jonas is interested in, then we would talk to them. But Jonas didn’t say that he wants to leave the club and go to Chelsea, so it doesn’t matter.

“If someone wants to leave the club then we have to talk about it, but not before.”
