QPR’s Luongo on shortlist for PFA award

QPR’s Massimo Luongo has been named on the shortlist for the Championship PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for October.

The midfielder has been in fine form for Rangers this season and has been their stand-out player in recent weeks.

Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle, Sheffield Wednesday’s Gary Hooper and Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham have also been nominated for the award, as have Preston’s Paul Gallagher and Sam Baldock of Brighton.

The shortlist was chosen by a panel which includes former QPR manager Ian Holloway.
