Joey Barton has insisted that his QPR team-mate Charlie Austin would be a better choice for England than Rickie Lambert.

Barton said Lambert does not deserve to be picked for his country after failing to make an impact for a Liverpool side “who can’t hit a cow’s a*** with a banjo.”

While Austin continues to make a name for himself, Rangers midfielder Sandro has picked up another injury.

Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen equalised for Chelsea’s youngsters as they drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the Under-21 Premier League. Former QPR loanee Will Keane scored for the visitors.

Chelsea were interested in David Beckham’s son Brooklyn but have lost out to Arsenal, the Daily Star Sunday claim.

And Brentford boss Mark Warburton has hailed in-form striker Andre Gray, saying he could go on to play in the Premier League.
