Round-up: QPR bids snubbed, Solanke loan move, duo leave Brentford

QPR have brought in Paul Konchesky but have had bids for two players rejected as they look to add to their squad ahead of the new season.

An offer for highly-rated Southend United goalkeeper Dan Bentley was turned down and a bid for Bolton’s American defender Tim Ream was also unsuccessful.

Rangers have added to their squad though with the signing of veteran left-back Konchesky on a season-long loan from Leicester.

There continues to be speculation over the future of several QPR players, but head coach Chris Ramsey has insisted the club will not back down over the asking prices for the likes of Matt Phillips.

There has also been speculation that Rangers are lining up Crystal Palace’s Dwight Gayle as a replacement for Austin. Fulham are also reported to be keen on the Eagles forward.

Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke has completed a season-long loan move to Vitesse Arnhem.

Stuart Dallas and Jonathan Douglas have completed their moves from Brentford. Dallas has signed for Leeds United, while midfielder Douglas has been snapped up by Ipswich.

Fans of both buying clubs have been reacting on Twitter to the signings, with many Leeds supporters clearly having high hopes for Douglas.

Fulham have also been active in the transfer market – today they signed defensive midfielder Sakari Mattila from Norwegian side Aalesunds.

Meanwhile, Ickenham-based wheelchair tennis star Jordanne Whiley is celebrating winning her sixth doubles title of the year after success at the Belgian Open.

Eastcote’s Andy Lapthorne was runner-up in the quad doubles.
