Mourinho hails ‘fantastic’ Crystal Palace fans after derby victory
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho praised Crystal Palace’s supporters after his team’s 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho applauded the Eagles fans at the final whistle and was impressed by Tony Pulis’ side, who equalised with a goal from Marouane Chamakh after Fernando Torres’ opener and went close to levelling again in the second half.
In the end, Ramires’ 25-yarder was enough to take the Blues to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
“Fantastic fans – they supported their team until the end and pushed them all the time,” said Mourinho.
“I like it a lot when at away matches supporters go strong with the team and we had that at Sunderland and Stoke – we are having that a lot, as our fans give us fantastic support.
“Today I was impressed with Crystal Palace’s people and wish them good [luck].”
