Round-up: QPR signing close, Bees signing, Arthurworrey deal, Middlesex win

QPR expect to complete the signing of striker Sebastian Polter from Mainz by the end of the week.

Rangers have agreed a fee with the German club and Polter, 24, is finalising personal terms.

Youngster Michael Harriman has signed a new contract at Loftus Road, snubbing potential moves to Luton and Wycombe.

Fans on Twitter have been reacting to yesterday’s unveiling of QPR’s kits for next season – and the news that the hoops do not appear on the back of the shirts.

In terms of transfer speculation, Italian media reports claim QPR are looking to sign Mauricio Isla on a permanent deal, while the Daily Mail say West Brom are discussing a £22m move for R’s duo Charlie Austin and Matty Phillips.

It’s been a busy day at Brentford, who have signed Austrian midfielder Konstantin Kerschbaumer [pictured above] for an undisclosed fee.

Austrian football expert Tim Armitage spoke to  West London Sport  about Kerschbaumer and what fans might expect from him.

The Bees have also signed German defender Jan Holldack and unveiled details of the club’s new coaching set-up.

At Fulham, defender Stephen Arthurworrey has signed a new one-year contract but will return to Yeovil on loan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes spoke to West London Sport from Canada about England’s World Cup campaign.

In cricket, Sam Robson scored a brisk 36 to help Middlesex cruise to a comfortable win over Hampshire before lunch on the final day at Lord’s.

And West London rowers are out in force at Henley Royal Regatta, which got under way today.
