Boss Adams hails Norwich star after ‘fantastic’ win at Brentford

Norwich manager Neil Adams hailed striker Cameron Jerome after his two goals helped them beat Brentford 3-0 at Griffin Park.

Jerome added to Alex Tettey’s second-half opener by finishing off a swift counter attack with a diving header before smashing home a brilliant goal late on.

“He came on on Saturday and scored the fourth goal at Cardiff and his performance got him into the team – this was his first start,” Adams said.

“And he’s scored two fabulous goals. The second was an excellent strike. I don’t know how fast it was, but it was unsaveable.

“He’s done well but Alex Tettey’s goal was a team goal, so we’ve had a variety tonight. W need to share them [goals] around the team as well, which we have.

“We scored three goals which is probably a bit unfair on Brentford – they played well. People will probably think Brentford have been battered but that wasn’t the case.

“But I always felt we would go on and win the game and we’ve been delighted with how we’ve started the season.”

The victory  moved Norwich to the top of the Championship, if only for 24 hours ahead of Nottingham Forest’s clash with Fulham on Wednesday.

Adams added: “It’s fantastic for us. I wouldn’t try to play it down.

“It might be just 24 hours. Of course you don’t get anything for being top in September, but if you’d asked me where I wanted it to be at this stage then it would be top of the league.”
