Chelsea said to be leading Barkley race and Taarabt touted for Italy move

Kia Joorabchian has suggested that QPR’s Adel Taarabt could yet move to Italy.

Joorabchian, who has been involved in a number of Rangers’ transfer deals in recent years and acts as an adviser to Taarabt, negotiated a loan move to AC Milan for the Moroccan last season.

He was subsequently unable to secure a permanent move to the San Siro for Taarabt during the summer and plans to try again when the transfer window reopens in January.

“Taarabt in January can move, yes. Perhaps even in Italy, but it is too early to say,” Tuttomercatoweb quoted Joorabchian as saying.

Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to be linked with Ross Barkley amid reports that Manchester City have backed off after being told Everton’s asking price is £50m.

The Express claim Chelsea are now leading a race to sign the England international.
