Rangers interested in forwards Deeney and Barrow, reports claim

QPR are interested in Watford striker Troy Deeney, the Daily Mail say.

The 26-year-old, who moved to Vicarage Road in 2010, scored 25 goals last season.

Aston Villa’s Netherlands defender Ron Vlaar is again mentioned as a possible signing for Rangers and the Mail also suggest QPR are monitoring Modou Barrow.

Gambian forward Barrow, 21, plays for Ostersunds FK in Sweden and is reportedly wanted by Celtic.

He is apparently rated at £1.5m and Hull, Swansea and Everton are also said to have watched him.

Ferdinand is set to join QPR, who also want Steven Caulker.

The Sun reports that R’s boss Harry Redknapp has sealed the signing of Rio Ferdinand.

Meanwhile, Fulham are battling with Sunderland to sign United States international Matt Besler, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Kansas City defender, 27, is quoted as saying: “Fulham have made an offer and I know that Sunderland put in an offer, or are putting in an offer.

“It’s a situation which needs to get resolved. It’s not just my decision. It’s the club’s decision if they want to sell.”

The Mail say Olympiacos want to sign Bryan Ruiz on a free transfer from Fulham, who paid in excess of £10m for him two years ago.

And there is again speculation that Chelsea could pip Arsenal to the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is widely reported to be keen to capture the Germany star, who played under him at Real.
