Tottenham face a dilemma at left-back ahead of their huge Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino does not believe Ben Davies, who missed the win over Bournemouth at Wembley through illness, will be ready to return by Tuesday.

With Danny Rose still recovering from a long-term knee problem, Jan Vertonghen filled in at left-back in the 1-0 victory against the Cherries.

Son Heung-min, Kieran Trippier and youngster Kyle Walker-Peters are other potential options.

Pochettino said: “It will be difficult (for Ben Davies to play). I don’t believe (he will).

“I hope as soon as possible he can be involved. We need to assess him. I am not very positive but I hope that I am wrong and he can train with us.”

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou was also forced off as Christian Eriksen’s winner ensured a first Premier League win at the national stadium, but Pochettino expects the winger to be okay.

“I think he knocked his head on the floor when he fell. He was a little bit dizzy but now he is better,” he said.

“I think it was a very important win for us, to start to believe we can win games at this stadium.

“The performance was not great but we improved in the second half and found enough to win.”
