QPR had an early let-off at the Emirates Stadium, where Alexis Sanchez’s woeful penalty was easily kept out by keeper Rob Green.

Armand Traore, playing against his former club, brought Sanchez down in the box but the Arsenal man failed to take advantage with the resulting spot-kick.

Rangers, beaten in all nine of their away matches this season, reverted back to three central defenders, with Rio Ferdinand recalled to the starting line-up.

Traore was given a chance to impress at left wing-back in the absence of the injured Yun Suk-Young.
