Wednesday may struggle to prise away QPR man – report

Sheffield Wednesday may be unable to prise Jay Bothroyd away from QPR so are considering other options as well, The Sheffield Star report.

Bothroyd, who played under Owls boss Dave Jones at Cardiff, is not in Rangers manager Mark Hughes’ first-team plans and can leave Loftus Road.

Bothroyd can leave QPR.

It was reported this week that the striker is heading towards a move to Hillsborough and that Jones is willing to pay £1m for him.

But The Star suggest Wednesday have eyed Bothroyd as a possible loan signing and may find it difficult to persuade him to leave the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say Fulham have revived their interest in Oussama Assaidi after the Heerenveen forward’s proposed move to Ajax fell through.

Assaidi, 23, was strongly linked with a move to Craven Cottage last season.
