Harlequins sign scrum-half Egerton

The Stoop
Harlequins have signed England Sevens scrum-half Sam Egerton on a short-term deal.

The 24-year-old, who last year played in the Championship for Yorkshire Carnegie, joins as injury cover for Karl Dickson.

A graduate of Oxford University, Egerton has played in four consecutive Varsity matches – twice being named man of the match – and became the first player since 1925 to score in three consecutive games in the series.

Between January and April 2015, he made 11 appearances for Carnegie, scoring seven tries, before agreeing a contract with England Sevens.
