Allardyce: Lack of firepower is QPR’s main problem
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce believes QPRs lack of firepower is the main reason for their poor start to life back in the Premier League.
Harry Redknapp’s side are bottom of the table and their 2-0 defeat against the Hammers on Sunday means they have lost all of their away matches so far this season, scoring only one goal in the process.
“For Harry, like for us all, it’s about how threatening you are in terms of goal threat,” said Allardyce.
“If you’re struggling to do that then the rest of the team comes under that much pressure it ultimately cracks. We’ve suffered that ourselves in the past.
“What did they have? One attempt when Charlie Austin did brilliantly to get away from James Tomkins and a couple of shots.
“When you haven’t got a real goalscorer in the team it makes such a difference. Our goal threat is greater whereas I think QPR are lacking a real goal threat at the moment and that makes life difficult.”

Agree. Game too slow, some players off weight. Think Traore is right about lack of fitness. Ferdinand out of pace cause of his age, along with 2 or 3 other players. Need a good play in centre, someone capable of good passing and of course at least one more sharp striker up front. Charlie is good but alone up front. Niko doing a good job in comparisment to other players brought in. Think Fernandes should take in Pulis…..or…..back to ch”ship it is again with even more debt.

Dear All
I was at the game and was impressed by the Upton Park ground.
The last time I visited West Ham was in the late 70,s. I went with my girlfriend who is now my wife married 34 years with anniversary at the weekend.
My ticket showed seat number 13.
So for the game, pleased to see Onuha who was fine for a first appearance.
Critics said QPR had no heart or commitment.
Sorry I do not agree there were some good performances on the day.
I think QPR are improving all the time and yes we lack a top class additional striker.
Didn’t appreciate the vicious unwarranted condemnation of Rio.
Back line apart from a few blips were fine.
Getting forward quickly is so important and at pace.
QPR in the second half closed down quickly and started to get some joy.
My son who comes with me supporting the Hoops since a school boy is really frustrated with the lack of success.
He feels the players need more venom and fight in a constructive way to die for the team.
Things need to improve let’s get that ball moving much quicker with two or three in the box.
I think caution is not an option.
Pleased to see Onuha at right back he will get much better.
Not sure about Chauker he seems short on pace and slow to respond to threats.
Fee is always unsure as to where to send a pass.Charlie was a bit non-descript with Zamora showing him up.
Well done Bobby you had a difference, Hollet was also good value so was our Croatian
All effective as was our left back improving every game.
Come on Rangers and the faithful giving stick is not going to help.
The Premier Leagues upside down was a good song from the terraces.
We are not expected to get any points in the next few games I think QPR can win them all.Nice to see my little Morrocan mate on the pitch lets hope he can have a little influence.
Put him up front, he will score you goals.
All the best you Super Hoops supporters we will be OK the best is just around the corner.
No ones heads dropped not far away from some good results.

It’s been a continuous slide since we changed from being a hard to beat side in the championship grinding out results but keeping the ball well to trying to be more concerned with scoring goals but allowing other teams to play resulting in scraping up in the play-offs let’s try to get more solid in our play defensively and look to stay in the game and then bring on impact players and build confidence up

I agree with previous comment about not buying Rhodes or Deeney.
I think its all too ‘cosy’, players aren’t motivated and the training staff are of an age, with the Manager, where they need new ideas and replacement.
I hope Mr Fernandez doesn’t wait too long before he makes a decision to replace Manager and staff.
Lack of fitness and a poor preseason can only be down to the Management.

harry said when we went down that we had lack of fire power all season what do you expect but did nothing about it .then he knew that remy would go and again did nothing he went for the lad at liverpool for 13 million who has done nothing since he spent the money from remy on sandro who has done nothings well.why did he not go rhodes at blackburn or deeney at watford for 12 million who have scored goals where ever they have played.players not fit has to be down to harry and his training staff maybe harry is not fit either too to do the job.
