West Brom boss Pulis again linked with QPR job

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has again been linked with QPR, this time by the Sun on Sunday.

After Pulis was recently seen sitting alongside Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand while watching a match at Loftus Road, The Times suggested that he was being targeted as a potential replacement for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

It came amid uncertainty over Pulis’ future at West Brom and with Hasselbaink’s QPR side having been thrashed 6-0 at home by Newcastle.

Ferdinand subsequently told West London Sport that Rangers were not considering changing manager or lining up Pulis as a possible appointment.

Hasselbaink has received rock-solid backing from the club following recent allegations that he asked for money to work for a company he was told were looking to sell players to QPR. The club say they are holding an investigation into the allegations.

The club’s owners also resisted calls from many fans to appoint Pulis prior to Chris Ramsey being installed as head coach in 2015.

Nevertheless, the Sun on Sunday say Hasselbaink is under pressure and that the QPR hierarchy rate Pulis and are monitoring his situation at Albion.

The Sun recently claimed Steve McClaren was being lined up for a role at Rangers and subsequently claimed that the former England manager had turned down an offer from the club.
