QPR are still waiting for their first away win of the season following the 1-1 draw at Sunderland. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player at the Stadium of Light.

Alex Smithies: 7

Produced an excellent save in the first half. Didn’t have that much to do after that.

Alex Baptiste: 7

Showed his commitment and experience in a very solid display, the highlight of which was a superb block to deny Duncan Watmore late in the game.

Joel Lynch: 6

Won a fair number of aerial challenges but never looked that comfortable. Unconvincing.

Jake Bidwell: 6

Moved into a more defensive role in the absence of the injured Jack Robinson and was solid throughout.

Pawel Wszolek: 6

Worked tremendously hard but the end product just wasn’t there for the out-of-form Wszolek. He squandered a great chance to score and made the wrong decision on the ball on several occasions. Looks jaded.

Josh Scowen: 7

Battled hard in midfield, particularly during a second-half spell in which Rangers were on top and the home side were struggling badly.

Massimo Luongo: 7

Ditto. Back from international duty and lasted the 90 minutes without any sign of fatigue.

Ryan Manning: 6

Worked hard on the left, although Sunderland had some joy on that side in the first half.

Luke Freeman: 7

Took up some great positions and his movement caused Sunderland problems. Linked up nicely with Jamie Mackie a number of times.

Jamie Mackie: 6

Like Wszolek, worked hard but lacked quality and missed a good chance.

Idrissa Sylla: 7

Sloppy on more than a few occasions but his overall display – and his goal – justified his selection. Could have scored again in the second half and always looked a handful.

Conor Washington: 6

Lively after coming on midway through the second half and helped set up a late chance for Sylla. Also saw an effort of his own saved.
