Summer signing explains his swift exit from QPR

Oscar Gobern has told Doncaster’s website his limited first-team chances at QPR meant he was keen to leave on loan.

The 24-year-old was given a trial by the R’s during the summer after being released by Huddersfield and signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road after impressing.

He was signed as a squad player but his chances of getting into the side diminished further as Rangers added to their midfield options.

Gobern was therefore loaned to League One club Rovers until January.

“I was training at QPR and got a call saying Doncaster were interested and I was excited, asked my agent to make it happen and thankfully he did,” he said.

“I went to play and it’s not happened for whatever reason. I’ve come here to improve my game and, in doing so, help the team.

“I have to respect the players and the squad that is there (QPR) and how much money they’ve got.

“I went there and gave it my best but at this moment in time I’ve come here and want to help Doncaster.”
