Sterling sale would bring QPR cash boost

QPR will be in line for a financial boost if Liverpool allow Raheem Sterling to leave Anfield.

Sterling, who was an academy player at Rangers before being snapped up by the Reds in 2010, is expected to ask for a transfer this summer.

There has been speculation over his future for some time, with a number of top clubs reported to be interested in signing the 20-year-old England international.

A sell-on clause in the deal which took him to Liverpool means QPR will be entitled to 20% of any transfer fee if he leaves for another English club and 25% if he moves abroad.

Liverpool have made it clear they do not want to sell Sterling, who is under contract until 2017 but has indicated that he will not sign a new deal.
