Sandro and Macleod feature in Under-21 game

Sandro of QPR
Sandro featured for QPR’s Under-21 side in a match against Brentford at Loftus Road, where Lewis Macleod scored for the visitors on his return to action.

Macleod, yet to make a first-team appearance since joining the Bees from Glasgow Rangers in January, impressed after finally being given the all-clear following a long-term hamstring injury.

He played for an hour, going off along with Sam Saunders straight after Saunders had crossed for him to head in Brentford’s second goal in a 2-1 win.

Their first goal had been scored by Josh Bohui, who cut in from the left and fired past keeper Joe Lumley three minutes before half-time.

Sebastian Polter, fit again after a recent hamstring problem, pulled a goal back with a close-range header from Gianni Chrichlow’s right-wing cross.

Sandro also played for an hour. The Brazilian midfielder has been building up his match fitness since finally returning to London after a long-standing issue with his visa was resolved.

Polter completed the 90 minutes, as did R’s midfielder Ben Gladwin.
