Remy rejects move after Newcastle table bid

Loic Remy has rejected a move to Newcastle after the Magpies submitted an offer for the QPR striker.

Remy has consistently made it clear he is not interested in a permanent move to St James’ Park, where he spent last season on loan.

He is keen to stay in London and join Arsenal or Chelsea, but with neither club showing a firm interest, and with the Frenchman’s proposed move to Liverpool recently collapsing, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew was tipped to make one more attempt to sign him.

An offer was duly made, but on Friday Remy reiterated that he is only looking to leave Loftus Road for a club in the Champions League.

West Ham previously made an enquiry about Remy, who joined Rangers from Marseille for £8m in January last year on the understanding he would be allowed to join a top-four side for the same fee.

Other clubs would have to pay considerably more and Newcastle were willing to do so in order to sign him.
