Rangers trio back for Man City clash

Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Joey Barton, Jordon Mutch and Nedum Onuoha have been passed fit for QPR’s clash with Manchester City.

All three players have been struggling with hamstring problems but can rejoin the squad for Saturday’s game, putting Barton and Onuoha in contention to face their former club.

Barton made 130 league appearances for City before joining Newcastle in 2007.

Defender Onuoha, a lifelong City fan, came through the ranks at the club and joined QPR in January 2012. He was substituted at half-time in the recent defeat against Liverpool.

Barton and Mutch have been out since both were taken off injured during the 2-2 draw with Stoke on 20 September.

The midfielders could face a battle to regain their places, as R’s boss Redknapp has indicated that he wants the partnership of Sandro and Karl Henry to continue.

Redknapp said: “Today’s the first day we’ve got a clean bill of health – everybody’s fit. It’s the first time since I’ve been at the club, probably.

“It’s good to have a full squad. They’re all available, touch wood.”
