Rangers tie up deal to bring Kranjcar back

QPR have agreed another season-long loan deal with Dynamo Kiev for Niko Kranjcar.

The Croatian, who played under Harry Redknapp at Tottenham and Portsmouth, spent last term on loan at Rangers as they won promotion from the Championship.

Kranjcar, 30, was desperate to leave the Ukrainian club and secure a return to London this summer.

He made 33 appearances for the R’s and was outstanding in their play-off semi-final triumph against Wigan.

However, he was plagued by hamstring trouble and missed the World Cup after aggravating the problem during the play-off final against Derby.

Nevertheless, Rangers boss Redknapp told West London Sport days after that victory at Wembley that he wanted to bring him back.

And in July, as negotiations with Dynamo were continuing during QPR’s pre-season trip to Germany, Redknapp insisted he had no reservations about Kranjcar’s long-term fitness and that the player would take a “massive drop in wages” in order to return to W12.
