QPR’s Gladwin completes loan move

Ben Gladwin of QPR

Ben Gladwin has returned to Swindon Town on a month’s loan.

West London Sport revealed this week that the midfielder planned to speak to Chris Ramsey about his lack of first-team action at QPR and that a loan move was possible, with the Robins interested in a deal.

Gladwin, 23, has started only one league match for Rangers since being signed from Swindon during the summer.

His last appearance came when head coach Ramsey sent him on as a late substitute in the home defeat against Nottingham Forest almost a month ago.

“I’ll probably be having a chat with him. I’ll see what he says about my chances of playing and move forward from there,” Gladwin told West London Sport this week.

“I understand that we’ve got a strong squad and competition for places is very tough. I’ve just got to keep working hard.

“I can play in either of the wide positions or behind the striker, but obviously we’ve got very good players in those positions.

“Everyone wants to get on the pitch and play football and that’s what I’ll be looking to do.”

Gladwin has also admitted his fitness has been affected by his limited opportunities so far this season.

“Obviously because of the lack of games I’m not totally up to speed at the moment,” he said.

“That’s something that I’ll be looking to change in the coming weeks. I need to get a little bit fitter.”
