Midfielder Brandon Comley could make a permanent move from QPR to Colchester.
The League Two club are interested in signing Comley, who has been on loan with them since August.
His current loan spell is due to expire on Sunday and talks have taken place over a possible permanent deal.
Comley, 22, is a product of QPR’s youth system and has made two first-team appearances for the club. His Rangers contract expires this summer.
He has also been on loan at Grimsby and Carlisle.
