Rangers trio look set to rejoin squad

Joey Barton, Jordon Mutch and Nedum Onuoha are on course to be passed fit for QPR’s clash with Manchester City.

All three players have been struggling with hamstring problems but are expected to rejoin the squad for Saturday’s game, putting Barton and Onuoha in contention to face their former club.

Barton made 130 league appearances for City before joining Newcastle in 2007.

Defender Onuoha, a lifelong City fan, came through the ranks at the club and joined QPR in January 2012. He was substituted at half-time in the recent defeat against Liverpool.

Barton and Mutch have been out since both were taken off injured during the 2-2 draw with Stoke on 20 September.

The midfielders could face a battle to regain their places, though, as boss Harry Redknapp has indicated that he wants the partnership of Sandro and Karl Henry to continue.
