QPR await results of Austin scan

QPR striker Charlie Austin

QPR expect to discover the extent of Charlie Austin’s hamstring injury in the next few hours.

The striker limped off in the second half of Rangers’ 4-0 defeat at Fulham on Friday and the results of a scan are due later today.

Rangers fear Austin is facing a spell on the sidelines, which would leave them short of options up front.

Jamie Mackie also picked up a hamstring injury at Fulham and summer signing Sebastian Polter has been unavailable because of a similar problem.

Austin has scored seven goals for QPR this season.
