QPR confirm Lynch will miss Wednesday game

QPR have confirmed that Joel Lynch will miss their game against Sheffield Wednesday because of a hamstring problem.

Nedum Onuoha is suspended after being sent off in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Hull, where Lynch went off injured after 15 minutes.

Jack Robinson, who recently recovered from a toe injury, came on to replace Lynch and is expected to start against Wednesday.

And Onuoha’s absence means experienced defender Alex Baptiste is in line for his first appearance in almost two months.

Rangers boss Ian Holloway said: “It gives someone else a chance. ‘Baps’ will have to be ready and hopefully Robbo’s still alright – he came on and did well.”

Bright Osayi-Samuel, who came on as a substitute against Hull, is in contention to start.

Matt Smith missed the Hull game because of illness and will be assessed ahead of Tuesday’s match.
