QPR defender Alex Baptiste is expected to shake off a slight hamstring problem in time for Saturday’s game at Preston.

Baptiste, who spent last season at Preston on loan, picked up the injury during Monday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford but is set to be included in the squad for this weekend’s match.

Rangers’ defensive options remain limited, with Darnell Furlong still struggling with a knee problem, while Nedum Onuoha, James Perch and Steven Caulker are unavailable and Grant Hall is expected to miss the entire season.

Manager Ian Holloway is again considering including at least one youngster in his squad because of QPR’s injury problems, having opted not to do so for the Brentford game.

Holloway will be without midfielder Luke Freeman, who serves a one-match ban.
