QPR confirm move to new training ground

QPR have confirmed that the Warren Farm Sports Centre is to be redeveloped into their training ground.

West London Sport revealed in January that the site near Osterley Park was Rangers’ preferred choice for a new headquarters.

The land was also targeted by the wealthy owners of non-League Southall FC, who argued that their plans would provide more benefit to the local community.

Rangers remained confident that their proposals would be accepted by Ealing Council, although they have had to provide assurances that the new facility will be available for community use.

It is hoped the Warren Farm move will be completed in time for the start of the 2013/14 campaign. Until then, QPR’s players will continue to train at Harlington.

The club’s youth teams recently vacated the training ground and are now using the Park Club in Acton, where they will be based next season.
