QPR confirm arrival of Fleming as first-team coach

QPR have confirmed the appointment of Curtis Fleming as first-team coach.

West London Sport revealed this week that manager Ian Holloway was set to add Fleming, 48, to his backroom team.

The former Republic of Ireland defender has left his job as assistant boss at Hartlepool United. He has held similar positions at Crystal Palace, where he briefly worked under Holloway, and Bolton.

The Dublin-raised Fleming made 266 appearances during 10 years at Middlesbrough and also had spells at Palace and Birmingham City during a playing career which started at St Patrick’s.

He has also had coaching roles at Livingston and Derry City.

Fleming will work alongside Marc Bircham, who returned to QPR as first-team coach when Holloway was appointed last month.
