QPR interested in taking Assou-Ekotto back from Spurs, report claims

QPR are interested in signing Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Tottenham, the Daily Mirror say.

Assou-Ekotto, who was on loan at Loftus Road from Spurs last season, is also said to be a target for Crystal Palace.

Both clubs have supposedly been put off by the left-back’s wages demands – said to be £40,000 a week – which, it is claimed, he is refusing to lower despite being told he can leave White Hart Lane.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express have again linked Chelsea with a move for Mattia Destro.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old Roma striker, who is currently out of favour at the Italian club.

The Express say Destro has indicated a willingness to leave Roma by saying: “I try to score goals when I have the opportunity. [Should I be given] more opportunities by the coach? That’s up to the coach.”

This is said to be a boost for the Blues and Arsenal as both clubs are apparently keen to sign him.

Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus is another player The Express have recently linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

It is therefore claimed that news of Bayern Munich’s apparent interest in the Germany international will come as a blow to Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Express also reports that Kit Symons will be given money to spend in January after being confirmed as Fulham manager this week.
