Injured Townsend returns to Tottenham
Andros Townsend has returned to Tottenham for treatment on a hamstring problem and will miss QPR’s game at Reading on Sunday.
The on-loan Spurs winger had to be substituted at half-time in last weekend’s defeat against Stoke but could be available for Rangers’ match at home to Arsenal a week on Saturday.
“We’re hoping he could be available for the Arsenal game,” QPR manager Harry Redknapp confirmed.
“It was part of the deal with Spurs that if he got injured they would assess him. But there’s every chance he will be available for that game.”
Meanwhile, Rangers are still assessing a shoulder injury Adel Taarabt suffered against Stoke and he looks unlikely to play at Reading.
