QPR boss Holloway backs strikers

Ian Holloway says he has full confidence in QPR’s strikers despite recent results.

Conor Washington and Sebastian Polter both scored as Rangers began Holloway’s second spell as manager by beating Norwich.

Three defeats in a row and just one goal – scored by defender Joel Lynch – have followed, but Holloway insists he is happy with his attacking options.

“I’ve got three or four wonderful strikers at this club,” he said.

“I’ve got to get them believing in themselves, playing the way I want and I know they’ll score.

“Conor has already scored, Seb Polter was injured last week and has still gone out (against Rotherham) for me.”

Rangers, who face Derby at Loftus Road on Wednesday, dropped to 18th in the Championship after Saturday’s loss at Rotherham, who had won only once this season.

“I think the players are showing far too much disappointment. I want them to believe in themselves,” Holloway said.

Meanwhile, QPR are giving a trial to Arsenal youngster Tyrell Robinson.
