Holloway defiant after Bees thrash QPR

Ian Holloway says Brentford fans can expect their team to face a very different QPR in the league this season.

The Rangers boss was responding to his side’s 4-1 thrashing by the Bees at Loftus Road in the EFL Cup, which the visiting supporters savoured.

Holloway, who made 10 changes for the game, said: “They were gloating. I don’t care, they can do what they like.

“I don’t really give a monkey’s who we’ve just played and who we’ve just lost to in the cup. Let’s take them on in the league and we’ll see how we get on.

“I don’t want to lose to them, but I’d love to play them every week with my proper team and we’ll see.

“I can’t wait. It’s just spiced up the away game and the home game for me – just spiced it right up.”

The two west London neighbours will next meet in the Championship at Loftus Road on 25 November.

Brentford, who also made significant changes for Tuesday’s tie, are at home to Wolves in the league on Saturday, while QPR travel to face leaders Cardiff.
