Hughes: This will be QPR’s last transfer blitz

This is the final transfer window in which a glut of signings will be made by QPR, manager Mark Hughes has insisted.

Rangers have signed a new-look team in successive windows under current chairman Tony Fernandes and the previous regime fronted by Flavio Briatore.

But Hughes says a line will finally be drawn once the next deadline arrives.

“We’ve had a huge turnover of players. I think since Tony Fernandes came to the club we’ve probably allowed 20 or so players to leave,” said the R’s boss.

“We’ve been able to add 12 or 13 players of, in my view, better quality. That’s what we’re trying to do – increase the quality of the first XI and the squad that underpins it.

“There’s still business to be done and I’m sure there will be comings and goings, but certainly this window won’t be replicated in January and in seasons to come.

“This [signing players] is something that we envisaged needed to be done, but once we’ve gone through the process and the squad’s settled we’ll add quality as and when we see fit.”
