Huddersfield’s approach ‘could play into our hands’, says QPR man

QPR striker Conor Washington believes Huddersfield’s possession-based game could play into his side’s hands when the two teams meet on Saturday.

The Terriers visit Loftus Road having won eight of their last 11 league games and with ambitions to chase down Newcastle and Brighton for the automatic promotion spots.

Rangers, meanwhile, have picked up only two points from their last four matches and another third defeat in five would leave them anxiously looking over their shoulders again.

But Washington, who has scored two of the club’s last three goals, feels recent draws against Fulham and Newcastle demonstrate they play better against sides who want to dominate the ball.

Speaking to QPR’s website ahead of the Huddersfield game, the Northern Ireland international said: “They [Huddersfield] are a really good side.

“It will be interesting to see how they come and play against us as I cant see them changing too much and that could play into our hands.

“Against the teams that seem to have more possession we seem to enjoy it.”
