Holloway explains why playing against Newcastle might suit QPR

Ian Holloway believes the likelihood of Newcastle dominating possession against QPR could suit his team.

Rangers, hammered 6-0 at home by the Magpies earlier in the season, face them at St James’ Park this evening.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home against Burton does not bode well for them, but R’s boss Holloway is hoping they will rise to the challenge against the Championship title chasers.

He explained: “We’ve done very well at letting someone else have the ball in certain areas when they’ve been slightly better in possession than us.

“The lads have done well and felt really confident and solid. When we’ve had to come out and actually had the ball, we didn’t quite look the same with the same prowess.”

New signings Sean Goss and Luke Freeman are eligible to make their QPR debuts, while Ravel Morrison and Matt Smith can play against Blackburn on Saturday.
