Trialist striker scores twice for QPR U-21s

Trialist Tyler Blackwood scored twice for QPR’s development side as they won 3-2 at Crewe on Monday evening.

Striker Blackwood, a London-born 23-year-old who was previously on the books at Barnet and Northampton, now lives in the United States where he has been playing college football.

He scored after only three minutes at Gresty Road, heading home Jordan Gibbons’ cross.

Crewe levelled when Uche Ikpeazu held off Coll Donaldson and applied the finish, but Blackwood struck again following a defensive mix-up.

Left-back Osman Kakay made it 3-1 early in the second half after combining with Jake Mularaney, before Ryan Colclough pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Darnell Furlong, recently involved for Rangers’ first team, also featured in the game. The teenage right-back went close to scoring in the first half.
