Ramsey praises Konchesky after Chery clinches QPR victory

Chris Ramsey felt Paul Konchesky deserved great credit for QPR’s win at Huddersfield, where Tjaronn Chery’s late goal gave them a third consecutive victory.

It continued summer signing Chery’s impressive start at Rangers, but head coach Ramsey said the Dutchman had been helped by Konchesky’s solid display at left-back.

“He [Chery] did really well today but I want to really commend the back four,” Ramsey said.

“I thought Paul Konchesky defended a lot on his own and that allowed Chery to go forward. I also thought Nedum Onuoha, Grant Hall and James Perch were fantastic.”

The result means Rangers go into the international break in fourth place in the Championship table, having bounced back well from their opening-day defeat at Charlton.

“It’s most satisfying because it’s an away game against a very difficult opponent,” Ramsey added.

“We’ve now just got to plod on, continue chalking those wins off and accumulating points.”
