QPR’s worry increase as duo are injured

QPR have additional injury concerns after Nedum Onuoha and Sandro were taken off during the 3-2 defeat against Liverpool.

Onuoha, recently recalled to shore up Rangers’ weak defence, had to be replaced at half-time in Sunday’s match at Loftus Road after picking up a hamstring injury.

And Sandro was having a good game in midfield before going off with a groin problem midway through the second half.

Both players will be assessed in the next 48 hours and Rangers, already without the likes of Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch, are hoping their injuries will not prove to be serious.

Sandro’s early exit summed up a frustrating start to his QPR career as the Brazilian has been nursing a knee complaint since his arrival from Tottenham.

Harry Redknapp’s side dominated large parts of the game but lost the initiative somewhat after Sandro was replaced – Liverpool scored the opening goal soon afterwards.

“It was tough for us after losing Sandro but we never gave up,” said Redknapp.

“It’s been difficult for us because the players we’ve brought in haven’t been able to get going.

“Sandro hasn’t been fit and then you’ve got Jordon Mutch, who I think is a real prospect but hasn’t been fit either.”
