QPR’s Robinson sidelined for up to a year

Jack Robinson has been ruled out for up to a year after suffering a serious knee injury.

The 21-year-old left-back joined Huddersfield on a season-long loan immediately after being signed by QPR from Liverpool last summer.

He was injured in the final minute of the Terriers’ game against Birmingham on Saturday and scans have shown significant damage to the cartilage in his right knee. Robinson is expected to undergo surgery later this week.

QPR’s head of medical services Dr Peter Florida told the club’s website: “Jack has damaged the cartilage that lies over the bottom of the thigh bone.

“It has actually come away from the bone and has to be sewn back into place. At this stage, he is likely to be out for between nine and 12 months.”
