Sandro insists he’s ready for move

QPR midfielder Sandro

Sandro has told the Mail on Sunday he is fit to join another club despite Sporting Lisbon backing out of a move to sign him from QPR.

The Portuguese club decided against signing Sandro following a medical, citing a long-standing knee problem, but he insists the knee is fine.

“Clubs think I’m not fit, but I’m feeling the best I’ve felt for a long time,” he said.

Sandro, who ended last season on loan at West Brom, has been assessed by highly-respected knee specialist Andy Williams, who has apparently given him the all-clear.

“All my friends were worried for me when they saw the news (he had failed a medical); but I knew my knee was absolutely fine,’ Sandro said.

“Andy Williams saw my scan photos before I arrived and he was like: ‘What happened? I can’t see anything wrong’.”

Rangers are desperate to offload the Brazilian midfielder, who was signed from Tottenham for £6m in 2014 and has started only 26 league matches for the club.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently told West London Sport he doubted Sandro would play for QPR again and that the player is serious about finding another club.
